The Manager, Airside Operations provides skilled, management-level work with responsibility to oversee 14 CFR Part 139 airport operations and ensure compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) policies and procedures. Supervises and participates in the work of Airside Operations Supervisors and Airside Operations Specialists. Other responsibilities include managing and coordinating the operations of the airport, ensuring that Airport operating practices comply with a range of operating regulations, and environmental requirements, & coordinating airport construction projects.

Oversees execution of Notice to Airmen (NOTAMS) affecting airfield operations, ensures NOTAMS record are accurate, and coordinates with FAA, air traffic control tower, and flight service station.
Implements and enforces airport rules and regulations, policies, procedures, and FAA advisories concerning the safe operation of the airport.
Conducts safety inspections on all facilities directly related to the safe operation of the airport as required by periodic circumstances such as construction, meteorological conditions, incidents, or accidents.
Ensures that discrepancies or violations are reported to the responsible parties and follows up to ensure that required corrective action is taken.
Directs and controls airside and apron operations related to flight operations, inspections, federal requirements, and construction.
Supervises, organizes, and monitors the work of the Airside Operations Supervisors and Airside Operations Specialist positions.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Authority's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, coaching/mentoring staff, planning and directing work, appraising performance and resolving problems.
Ensures employees have proper tools, safety gear and uniforms to perform their duties.
Serves as liaison with tenants, government agencies, and local public agencies to coordinate airport operational activities.
Acts as wildlife control officer as defined by MNAA’s Wildlife Hazard Management Plan (WHMP).
Conducts studies and collects data for improving operating methods directly affecting the airport.
Participates in the design and phasing of construction projects to minimize impact to airport operations.
Assists with the preparation of operating and capital improvement budgets consistent with departmental goals.
Ensures administrative functions such as budgeting/budget management, payroll/timekeeping, personnel compliance and record keeping, and goal setting are completed in a timely manner.
Monitors construction activities to confirm compliance with the safety plan.
Ensures all documentation including records, reports, and logs are completed according to policies and procedures.
Supports development and implementation of Safety Management System (SMS) as required by FAA as it relates to airside operations.
Resolves emergencies by responding to warnings and calls; by assigning staff to urgent situations.
Responds to emergency and crisis response situations at the Emergency Operations Center.
Acts as the 24-hour on-call operations duty person in the absence of the Director, Airside Operations.
Supports airfield tours and assists in scheduling and accommodating special functions.
Manages key components of the Airport's Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drone) program
Oversees policies and procedures and make recommendations for improvements in safety, security, and efficiency.
Ability to respond calmly and effectively during emergency and irregular operations incidents following National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident
Command System (ICS) structure.
Maintains regular and on-time attendance.
Follows all safety regulations.

Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management/Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration or a field related to Aviation.
6-8 years of experience within Airside Operations at an FAR Part 139 certified airport, in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
2-4 years in Airport Operations at an FAR Part 139 certified airport.
Valid CLASS D Driver's License
Preferred:
Master's Degree in Aviation Management/Administration.
4-7 years of Managerial or Supervisory experience within Operations at an FAR Part 139 certified airport.
4-7 years in Airport Operations at an FAR Part 139 certified airport.
Certified Member (CM) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
Accredited Airport Executive (AAE) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
International Airport Professional certification from Airports Council International (ACI)
Remote Pilots License (Part 107) within 1 year of hire.
