The emergency medical dispatcher will serve within UK emergency services' dispatch. The dispatcher will be responsible for managing and directing emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching UK ambulances, scheduling ambulance transports, and assisting in air traffic control for helicopters landing at the UK medical center. They will also be responsible for call intake for all incoming EMS units and relay pertinent information to the appropriate party within the hospital.
Skills /Knowledge/Abilities:
Basic medical terminology and computer skills.

Required License/Registration/Certification :
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); plus dispatching certification from The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International within a year of hire
Preferred Education/Experience:
Two years of related experience highly preferred; experience in air traffic control operations and within a large healthcare organization preferred; at least 1 year of Public Safety/911 dispatch experience and/or dispatch certification preferred
